The provided instructions advise you to leave the plastic backing on the zagg until you have applied the protector to your screen. I found this impossible to do only because the zagg is so sticky to the paper backing that when you peel it off the plastic backing essentially removes itself from the zagg. The plastic backing im sure is meant to keep the product from flopping around during application. But once you put bubbles into the plastic backing there is no way you are going to be able to put it on your device straight. My advice is to remove both the paper AND plastic backing.
The problem with the installation is it requires you to handle the product and spray down the sticky side and the non-sticky side with a spray solution zagg provides (and by spray down I mean soak). Now it doesnt sound like it would be very difficult but the hard part is to actually apply this piece of plastic that is extremely flexible (since the plastic backing came off) and wants to bend in on itself and start sticking (which is what happened the first time). After you have thoroughly soaked the piece of film you have to try to line up the plastic correctly so you have some resemblance of a chance in hell to properly align the zagg on the device.Read more ›
The user was slightly discouraged when we applied this to his Asus, he didn't like how it took from the brightness quality of the screen and initially it looks weird.. I explained to him the weird look will go away in a day as the water needs to dry up (which it did and now looks VErY Smooth!), the brightness or overall screen "display-ness" does go down (a little) but i asked him what was worse, having the brightness down 5% or having a gash across the screen?!?
This is a thick rubbery screen protector that really does protect from harsher than normal wear.
Tie this in with a good case and your good to go. Since I started forcing my company to purchase Zaggs & nice cases, permanently damaged devices are down. Only 1 user thought he damaged his ipad, but we quickly discovered that the Zagg shield took the blunt of the attack and once removed the screen looked perfect. We were happy to spend another $30 for a new Zagg vs $499 for a new ipad :)
I bought this from here wasted my 23 bucks and then ended up going to Best Buy paying 30$ plus tax and another 15$ for the Geek Squad to put it on but at least i didn't have 3 women all disappointed and upset all over again!
While untangling the protector from itself, I ended up slightly damaging the non-adhesive surface, so I just threw the whole mess away. As I was dubious how easy it might be to later remove the protector, and I was afraid to install it even slightly damaged and then be "stuck with it".
Phooey, unlike the other reviewer, I am not willing to invest in a new one. My suggestion, if you insist on buying this, is to have a friend help you -- four hands are necessary for this job.
For myself, I am looking into the BoxWave Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 ClearTouch Crystal Screen Protector. It's the Boxwave I have on my Samsung tablet.

You get what you pay for. This was obviously a 'second' as the cutouts for the camera and light sensor were not in the right locations. There were both about a 1/4 inch off. Read morePublished on December 27, 2013 by Wild Bill
