My name is Deon; one thing I've always enjoyed in life is writing. My imagination would always take me away to different places, each day was a new story. I was always fascinated with fiction and fantasy. The stuff that's unachievable in the real world was always achievable in my mind.
So I started writing things down at 8 years old and by 11 I started writing my first book which I lost through moving. For more practice I would tell short stories to my friends at school and they found me to be very entertaining even back then.
I know I'm not alone when it comes to imagination, there are plenty of people like me. I don't feel I'm anything special, just a teenager who was given a chance that not many people get. And I owe a lot of that to my Grandmother. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have a way to start expressing my imagination to the world. At 13 she brought my first personal computer and that's what set me up for a life of serious writing. My handwriting was horrible, and at that time I misspelled many words. So being able to type my work made me more willing to write and it became a hobby and no longer a chore. I am forever indebted to her for that simple act of kindness, because without it I might have given up on writing all together. Now the spark for writing shines brighter than ever. I plan to write a massive amount of series and content and I've only just begun. I hope you all enjoy my writing, I will admit it is not for everyone, but I feel it would be a crime to keep all the stories I have in my head hostage from the world.
This book would not have been possible if not for the endless encouragement from my family and friends. Not once was I told that writing a book was too hard of a task for a boy to tackle since my start was at a very young age. The amount of belief and support I receive is unbelievable and for that I am forever grateful! But I owe the most gratitude to my mother for always pushing me to go the extra mile or work that extra hour, though I may have had my fair share of complaining and slacking off while making this book, she was the one who always set me back on track. I thank God for this awesome gift he blessed me with and hope to inspire many other young authors to pursue their writing as well!
Thanks in Advance for your support!
