Loved Miri. Headstrong, even with her memory loss. Her personality was not lost. It was fun reading how Zarik help her and found his own reward of honor. There was action, suspense, humor and romance. Previous characters were in the book also.
Everything you would want in a great book.
I would recommend this book. I will be checking out the rest of the series.
This was a nice edition to the series, a few glimpses of previous characters, but heavily focused on the new MCs. It was interesting to see Miri and Zarik growing closer while trying to solve the mystery of her missing memory. There were enough hints that there was a bigger plot, but it was also her discovering a bit about who she is and her growing connection to the stranger she just met. I thought they had a good chemistry, she pushed against being coddled, but didn't come across as being stubborn just to be stubborn. Even the issues that crept up between them didn't get too drawn out to make them feel overdone. I felt like Zarik's background was still a little sparse. I still had questions about the mission that had gone wrong, the details seemed a little sparse for something that was such a turning point of his past. There is still enough of a mystery of what is going to come next without it ending on a cliffhanger to make me eager for the next story.
Miri is missing, her mom makes out a report to the aliens to try to find her. Miri wakes up with no memories of her life before. she does find a place to go and a sweet woman gives her some food after Miri runs into her. Zarik hears that a young woman is found so he takes this case, but more for his own reasons than helping someone else. He wants to regain his honor with his fellow soldiers. This is book twelveth book and they just keep getting better and better. This is a page-turner with lots going on. I recommend this story. I had a hard time putting this one down. If you like aliens and a story with a lot of twist and turns, this is the one for you. I do like all the books in this series and I think you will too. I received an advanced reader copy from bookfunnel and have voluntarily chosen to leave a review. This is my honest opinion.
