Overall this binocular is lightweight and easy to handle even for a compact.
Cons: BIG con is chromatic aberration (CA)! Is it this unit? In very high contrast - snag against southern sky at sunset - the CA is abominable both with and without my glasses. CA is PROUNOUNCED even in the center of view. In moderate high contrast the CA is still abominable but is only noticeable around the edge of the view. Given the Zeiss name, the specs and price for these binoculars, I expected much better than this. I know these are low end for Zeiss, but even my kids' $10 Tascos do better on the CA front.
Lens caps would be nice.
Their strong point is the very bright view. Not easy to do with such a small objective. The image is crisp, the colors are true.
The field of view (FOV) is surprising without glasses. It is compromised if you wear glasses, but that is the trade-off for the size. I use mine with glasses for close range (back yard feeder) all the time. But if you can use them w/o glasses and need a quality pocket size binoc, these are a no-brainer.
I got these for their compact size, when you just want something that fits in a pocket (concert, sports event, touring) or to keep handy for a quick look out the back window. I would not want these to be primary birding binoculars, chasing a warbler around in the brush will show their limitations.
My only complaint, ironically, is that they are almost too small. My hands feel bunched up holding them. I've seen complaints about the size of the focus wheel, but that's not a problem for me.
By comparison, the compact Vortex 8x30s have just a bit more bulk and are more comfortable to hold. They are not as bright as the Zeiss, that was important for me (are the breast feathers buff or white?) , but depending on your requirements or budget for half the price you may want to consider the Vortex.
