It is interesting to see people of the past in their prime. Not all are attractive/flattering photos. Very little text - just the photographs, photographer, subject, date and location, but each chapter has introductory text. All photos are of people, but not just simple portraits. Most photographs are of people in context of their environment; but at least half are posed. All are definitely composed photographs.
Sorry - I'm neither a photographer nor an artist, just interested in the material. I have the book in front of me, and see that there are no other reviews, so I thought to offer something.
