The book is filled with twenty-three SHORT chapters that are perfect for anyone who is "too busy." No excuses for not reading a chapter and then engaging with the practical tips.
Author and award winning photographer, Tracy J Thomas reminds us that "Pure joy should be the goal for everyone, whether child or grownup." I have two young children and I used the simple reminders in this book to enjoy them, and JOIN them in their playfulness instead of being annoyed and rushed all the time.
Each chapter has a Gardening Tip or Nature Challenge. I live in the midst of a big city and don't have a garden, but there are community gardens to visit, beaches and parks and lots of "wild places" to visit. ' Im challenging myself (and the kids) to take part in the beauty of nature more often. Sometimes I forget how very peaceful. quiet and renewing it is.
Each chapter has a photo and under each photo is a meditation that will help keep you grounded. If you don't like the word meditation or if you don't know "how-to" look at these verses as something to contemplate and reflect upon.
"Zen in the Garden" is a book that you will return to again and again, especially on those days that have your hair standing on end!
It is gentle, peaceful and a breath of fresh air in a hectic world!
