im dealing with a Purple bleed this time starting from the sim tray, first one was from the corner,
i have been researching this and it appears that this is a common issue with this phone, even dropping it from a short distance, days later you see damage to the screen, even with a case on. thank goodness there a 12 month warranty on this phone, ill keep sending it in for the same damn thing if i have to for the next remaining months.
I personally think asus should do a recall of this phone and re-evaluate the layout of this phone, it is a great concept, it has great technology, and with it being a thin phone, you might have packed a little bit too much into the frame therefore when it gets a "shock" something contacts the amoled panel and causes it to warp. But since this is not an exploding battery you won't do a recall.
It was so bad, that I issued a refund and shipped it this morning, even though I don't have a back up phone as of right now. Sad day for me. Really was excited for this guy. I should have read the reviews or read up on it a week ago.
First, it has all of the features I require in a phone. It has a micro SD slot to expand my storage or use a second SIM card, a headphone jack, and is GSM compatible. Those items are requirements.
Additionally, this phone receives a strong data signal. Although the signal strength indicator is the same as other phones I've had, this phone seems to connect to it better.
After that, it has a great camera, plenty of RAM and internal storage, and a big, beautiful screen. I go all day without needing a charge. I've read other users complain of bloatware. I don't feel there is an issue. The apps installed are all apps I use anyway, and the few duplicates don't matter to me. With 128gb of internal storage, I just don't miss the 10 or 15 the system uses.
I've also found the ZEN forums to be very helpful if I have any questions. All in all, I am very pleased with this phone.
Otherwise, the screen is great, the sound quality is great, and the performance of its software is okay at best. All in all, you should save yourself the trouble, this phone isn't at all worth it's price tag and I regret buying it on a constant basis.

This issue happened a few times within a month of getting the phone, but a restart 'fixed' it. in the past 2 weeks its happened more frequently, and finally has gotten to the point where the phone isn't usable. I took it into a local shop for repair, where they opened it up, and disconnected and reconnected the wire, which temporarily fixed the issue, but 24 hours later the phone same issue is happening. The attached picture is what happens when I restart the phone. The screen is split with static and the actual restart screen, then quickly goes to black. The screen still senses button touches, but unfortunately the display down.
When the phone was working, I'd compare it to bigger brands quality at a better price, but unfortunately it looks like I'm wrong and should have spent the few hundred dollars extra on a brand that emphasizes quality.
With this poor quality build, I'm forced to give a poor rating to a phone I've come to love. If ASUS chooses to fix or replace the phone, I'd happily change my opinion to what should be a 5 star rating.
(AR is fantastic and the reason I chose this model!)
I tend to keep phones for 2-3 years and treat them gently. I've never had issues with water damage or broken screens.
