The Zilla Black Reflector Dome incandescent light fixtures are designed to deliver years of heat or light to reptile terrariums. Each is topped with a ceramic socket to withstand constant heat of bulbs up to 150 watts. The black exterior and reflective white interior finishes are powder-coated for added luster and long life. 6 ft. power cord with an in-line on/off switch is positioned near the fixture for easy use. Spring clips, to hold dome securely on screen top, are included.

UPDATE: Here is what Zilla Sent Me: (Basically they updated the fixture with additional insulation in 2015)
Thank you for bringing the issue you have experienced to our attention. From the sounds of what happened with the 5 inch dome you may have had an arc in the socket. A sever arc in the fixture can potentially sever the cords from the socket. While this is very uncommon we have taken steps to insure that if it does no fire will result, the material of the fixture the wires and ceramic socket are all nonflammable. We have also added another protective measure to the wires in the socket at the beginning of 2015. They now have a heat wrap around the wires in the socket to further insulate them from the heat they are exposed to. Any new fixture you purchase should have the wrap around the wires in the photo I attached.
With the current domes that you have there is one thing you can check on to make sure you do not experience this again. If you check in the center of the fixture, where the bulb screws in, there should be a copper or bronze colored tab, lift the tab so that is about half way up. If the tab is flat it is not coming in contact with the bulb causing the electricity to jump to make the bulb work. Normally this just causes the bulb to burn out early but it can potentially lead to an arc that can damage the wires in the socket. Please make sure that the fixture is unplugged before attempting any trouble shooting.

I'm using this dome in conjunction with iPower GLTIMEDWEEK timer and BYB - 100W Ceramic Infrared Heater to control heat my the animals I have in a screen cage. The dome of this reflector gets hot, but so far, it has not gotten hot enough to damage the screen top of the enclosure.
I'm not sure what else there is to say. This is a solid, functional, heavy duty reflector dome that works well in my current setup.
1. There is no on/off switch. Must be turned on and off with a separate timer or plugging it in and unplugging.
2. I'm using a ceramic heat bulb and I've noticed that if the fixture is bumped without much force, the connection between bulb and fixture is interrupted and the bulb must be tightened again. But I often don't notice until much later because the bulb emits no light.
