The product came wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap inside a box, but the can was still dented and damaged. Thankfully not enough to make the lid pop off.
The consistency is very much like thick milk. I forgot to get a paint stirrer so I shook the can well, then used a plastic knife to stir and it worked. It rolled on smoothly, and stuck very well. It also does dry very fast, but that's to be expected as the shellac is suspended in alcohol, which evaporates quickly. it seems to be working for its intended use. The alcohol smell wore off after it fully-dried.
I just wish it were cheaper. I learned that this primer is slightly cheaper in stores, but it's still expensive. I would recommend only using it for areas that need it. Smoke, fire damage? Mold damage? Bad odors? Sure, it'll be great. Regular priming without need for any other consideration? You'll be paying through the nose for it.
Absolutely do apply with good ventilation and wear a mask. The odor is foul! But it does dry quickly & the odor disappears.
