Wow, talk about customer service! I initially rated them 2 stars, but they are now easily a 5. Their team reached out to me about my experience with their product. Within one business day, they replied asking how they could make it right. I ended up getting a replacement board that is absolutely perfect! The new board had all of the pros listed below without any of the cons. I am not sure I have met another company with customer service this good! I couldn't be happier with how this all turned out!

This cutting board is HUGE! With that being said it's exactly what I was looking for! The cutting board is very appealing to the eye, especially with the end grain cuts. This board is very sturdy and heavier than I was anticipating. They did a good job sealing the teak wood with beeswax, linseed & lemon oil, it really brings out the pattern in the wood. It draws the eye from across the room and makes an excellent serving tray.

As for the negatives, the board is not level. It tilts from side to side or corner to corner when light pressure is applied to the top of the cutting board. When tilted completely to one side from pressure there is a 1/4" gap on the lifted side. Another major downfall of this cutting board is the grooves for juice and the handles. They are "prickly" to the touch, something I am sure a quick rub with sandpaper will fix. The last complaint I have about the board is that if you run your fingers across the board you can feel some slightly higher and lower pieces of the butcher block. Running the board through a planer or providing a finishing sand would take this cutting board to the next level. The ad says beeswax is included, however, this was missing from my package.

I'm giving this item five stars even though it came damaged. I ordered this as a gift so it wasn't opened by the recipient within the return window, unfortunately. It was slightly warped and spins on the counter which feels unsafe. I contacted the seller hoping to exchange it, and after providing some information to them, they immediately issued a refund and gave me instructions on repairing the warp so we can still use it. It's a gorgeous cutting board and we are definitely going to try to repair it. It's so sturdy and looks lovely on the counter. I'm giving five stars for incredible customer service and would definitely buy from this seller again. They truly stand behind their products.

I did so much research before buying this board, I was using bamboo boards before this, and I have gorgeous Japanese knives that I take very good care of, and then I discovered that had I not been honing my knives before and after using them, they would actually be dull by now because of the bamboo boards I was using with them!! I had no idea, so I researched for weeks and discovered that Teakwood was the best for my knives to protect them, and then I found out that Ziruma was actually the best manufacturer to buy my board from, and so I did, and once my board arrived I was so happy with it, but it doesn't end there, I was able to actually start a conversation with Ziruma via text message because being so new I had many question about what I could and could not do, they were so awesome, answering all of my questions, helping me step by step, even asking me to send them pictures of the board in my kitchen! They assisted me every single step of the way and they still do, I actually have them on speed dial, for text that is. You will not go wrong with this board, it is not only beautiful, but their customer service is outstanding.

I received this cutting board today. I was skeptical when I saw the price, but it is actually a nice yet unfinished board. There was no damage and it was nicely packaged. It comes with a small amount of wax to use on it, but I suggest either buying or having more wax on hand as you are going to need to finish the product. As it is end grain it isn’t going to be as smooth as a cross grain board. However, the one I received was rough and will require sanding, oiling, and waxing. There was also some of what is either the adhesive or markings from the lumber that should go away after I hit it with the sander. It could be used as is, but I want mine to not be that rough and trap bacteria. It has substantial heft and thickness to it. The ideas want me to address warping… these cutting boards will warp and crack if not properly taken care of just like any end grain board. It is fixable and the solution is addressed it the care manual supplied with the board. Before anyone questions me sanding the board it actually suggests sanding for knife indents and imperfections. So they are not hiding anything. Overall for the price, I would rather spend 10-20 minutes sanding the product to get the desired finish than spend another $100 on a cutting board that is fully finished. If you read this remember not to finish it with too fine of sand paper as the oil and wax won’t absorb properly just like any other piece of wood. I’ll probably go to 220 just to sand out the very rough spots before I clean it according to directions, oil and ultimately wax it. If you are looking to save $100+ for a little extra work put in I would highly recommend this product. If not, you are going to be spending $200 of more for something that is fully finished.

The cutting board is beautiful but the one i received is really warped. There is a good 1 cm on one side if the other side touch the table. I have to put something under to reduce the movement.

Exceptional customer service.
I contacted the seller and they gave me advice on how to straighten the board quickly and easily. It's now perfect.
But that's not all. To apologize for the inconvenience, they sent me a new board and a container of wax to maintain it. I wasn't asking for so much, but it's reassuring to see that companies still care about customer satisfaction. I will definitely use this vendor for future purchases. Thank you for your dedication.
