I am Italian and I typically use Italian olive oils or some of the nicer Californian ones.

I think this oil is great. If you are used to an olive oil that is very buttery or nutty or mild then the slight bitterness and bite this oil has might turn you off but I love its flavor profile and so did everyone I know who has tried it.

It’s nice to have a variety of different olive oils that you can go to for different flavors and this one is definitely going into my arsenal.

Also, this is a great price for this quality of oil.

Sorry To have to leave a poor review, but as a Greek Mama, I use all differing brands of olive oil to keep up with our family's daily consumption via cooking and drizzling... And I've never in my life tasted an olive oil that was so immediately and overwhelmingly bitter, the second it hits the tongue. Even my Husband and daughter were grabbing for anything to drink to wash out the taste, and they'd only sampled a tiny drop on their index fingers. It's too bad, I was really hoping to love this olive oil. I really detest leaving a bad review, but I luv the other Amazon reviewers who look out for me when I'm considering a purchase, so I need to do the same. Bummer! Positive note, Amazon customer service refunded me instantly. Thank you!

I Found My "Go To" Olive Oil

I'm not an expert on olive oil, and I wasn't having much success finding an EVOO that I liked...until now. I tried a lot of big brand names and I couldn't find one that had the flavor I was looking for. Even the highly regarded domestic oil didn't impress me. I wanted a great oil for dressings and dipping. From the first taste I realized Zoe's a high quality oil. It's robust and delicious. There are all kind of notes people attribute to it such as, "fruity", "peppery", sure, it has all that. I just know that when I dipped a piece of bread in it I couldn't stop eating it. I found what I was looking for.

The USA is dumping ground for stale and low quality olive oil and no doubt even fake olive oil. Our govt has no enforced standards so sellers can claim anything true or not without fear of punishment. The labels are meaningless. Not even sure some of the olive oils are all olive oil. Temptation too great to cheapen for that extra bit of profit. FDA mostly concerned whether its edible (wont kill you nor make you seriously ill) not whether its what it states on the label.

This is IMHO probably best of affordable olive oil with consistant acceptable flavor and not stale. Is it the best olive oil out there? Not by a long shot, but its a good consistant daily driver that wont bankrupt you.

I'm Fairly Picky About My Olive Oil Choices

I'm a self-admitted snob where several food items are concerned and olive oil is one of them. I also seem to have had far better flavor experiences with oils of Spanish origin. Nothing against Italian oils at all, as there are some really, really good ones . . . but it just seems that I've consistently gotten better flavor from more varieties and regions for the Spanish oils. As fellow aficionados are well aware, there are different olive oils for different culinary occasions and no single olive oil serves all needs. This one does however provide excellent flavor crossover, whether for use dipping, in a vinaigrette or a drizzle across veggies, pastas or as a meat prep before going in the oven (under 375degrees).
That said, ZOE is a pretty remarkable and quite reasonably priced first cold pressed Spanish blend providing a reliably consistent flavor profile.
Yes, I'd recommend it and no, I am not being rewarded for providing a positive review. Good stuff!

Good replacement for olive oil snobs

So I'm an olive oil snob. Not very snobby about much else, but am with olive oil. There's a good reason. If you research olive oil, you realize that most olive oils sold in stores are rancid because of how they're stored. And they lose their EVOO potency. So I chose to be choosy. I use olive oil on everything and even as a "hand and face lotion." Seriously good that way. I've long been a California Olive Oil fan (best of the best), but sometimes supply is hard to find on Amazon. Plus it is expensive. Plus due to their growth, they're now sourcing oils outside of the States and calling it something else, so you need to watch what you buy. I found Zoe. Have to say, it's a keeper. Can't say I can taste a difference. And we go thru 3-4 cans per month, so we're enjoying the cost savings. If you've never done a side-by-side olive oil taste test, try it. There is a big difference!

I am Spanish and it is hard for me to find an olive oil that I like and that is comparable to the wonderful olive oil that we produce in my country. I really like this olive oil. It is of great quality and taste, and of course, the best part is that it is Spanish. It has the right thickness, color, and taste. The packaging is perfect, cool designed, easy to store, and recyclable. My only problem with it is the price. I wish it was comparable to the prices that I pay in Spain. However, as an ex-pat and a person that loves cooking and loves good olive oil, I would definitely recommend this high-quality product.

I ordered these a few weeks ago after accidentally dropping my full olive oil to the ground. Glass and olive oil everywhere! This was one of the Olive Oil's that would deliver the soonest BUT its also in a can, so less likely its going to shatter into a million pieces. The area where we keep our oils is pretty difficult to reach so accidents aren't entirely unlikely.

My husband was skeptical that this would taste good because its in a can...but I think it tastes great! There is a little spillage that occurs but its not a huge deal. This is a great value for sure!
