My toddler loves this book and so do I. It's wonderful for so many reasons: The colorful, beautiful illustrations, the original and engaging story line and an inspiring but subtle message about breaking out of traditional gender roles (the princess wants to be a doctor, not prance around in a frilly dress). It's also written in rhyming verse, so it's fun to read aloud and pleasing to listen to.

Yet another beautiful book by this author. Great story and pictures, all our kids (6,4,2) love it and ask to read it almost every night.

Another Julia donaldson Axel Shaeffler hit. I loved this book and will add to my ever growing collection of this classic story telling at it's best. Great to read and my boys loved the illustrations.

A great story with a super, gender-neutral tone. My 2 year olds love the dragons, the discussion of all of Zog's 'ouchies' and the way the doctors fly off into the blue. Great illustrations, great prose and super delivery service by the sellers.

A really nice story. My son (3) loves it and has identified a family member with each dragon (i'm the strippy one - why I do not know, I'm just glad I'm not the pink one with chicken feet!).

for those of you who are lovers of the julia/axel combination like we are, you might be slightly disappointed. The story is cute and promising, then is a bit of a let down at the end.........As always, the illustrations are adorable and the text and rhyme smart and clever. Just wish the story had more "umph". I still think Julia Donaldson is an accomplished author- she gets kids!!!! The highest compliments to her and I hope she keeps producing more brilliant stuff like Gruffalo, Snail on the Tail, Room on the Broom. This wasn't her best.
