From the manufacturer
Designed for the best-tasting brewed beverages
For the best-tasting brewed drinks, the Water Boiler first dechlorinates the water by boiling it before cooling it to your selected Keep Warm setting (160°F, 175°F, 195°F, or 208°F).
Convenient Electric Dispensing System
Hot water is available at your selected Keep Warm temperature with the push of a button, any time of the day.
Shows actual water temperature at all times.
Quick Temp Mode
Ideal for filtered or bottled water, this mode heats the water directly to the selected Keep Warm temperature (160°F, 175°F and 195°F only) without reaching a boil. The water will reach the selected Keep Warm temperature quicker than regular mode. Other benefits include reduced steam and reduced energy use.
Brew black, herbal, pu-erh, mate and rooibos tea; prepare coffee and instant noodles.
Brew various green teas (bancha, houjicha, genmaicha), white tea and matcha.
Brew oolong tea; reduces energy consumption by 27-28% compared to 208°F keep warm.
Brew high quality green tea (gyokuro) or delicate teas.
Safety Auto Shut-off
A safety function that automatically shuts off power to the heater in order to prevent damage from overheating. The display will show 'HH' to alert that Automatic Shut-Off has been activated. The following conditions may cause activation:
When the boiler is plugged in without filling the Inner Container with water; when the water level is lower than the Refill Line and when boiling has been attempted; when the unit is empty or the upper lid is left open, and when hot water is poured in immediately after unit was plugged in.
Safety Auto Shut-off
Automatic Dispense Lock
Magnetic Power Cord
Removable lid allows for easy disposal of water.

Zojirushi refuses to take any responsibility, claims that it's "normal" even though I have indeed followed recommended cleaning practices. The rep then directly suggested I'd be billed if I sent in the boiler for warranty service and Zojurushi decides it's not responsible.
I can not recommend Zojirushi to anyone any more. The quality and service ethos of the past is gone - they might as well be just another peddler of cheap junk.
I strongly recommend buying a box of their cleaning tablets along with it. If you have hard water, you're going to need them. I'm on well water, which is pretty mineral-rich, so I clean my hot pots about once a month. I use mine multiple times a day, and it's on during all my waking hours. It only uses about 40W when sustaining hot water, so very economical. It has a nice shutoff timer, so you can have it turn off while you sleep and be back on and fully heated when you wake up.
I think this brand offers the best quality and value for the price. The last one I owned lasted for well over a decade before the internals finally gave out. I used it many times daily before it finally needed replacing.
Some use notes:
I almost always use the default temperature setting, that works great for most all teas and I don't want to wait for the water to cool for the lower temperatures. I only ever pour in filtered (Brita) water, which negates the need to use the boil feature most times; but I still let it boil once in a while to kill any germs.
Every couple months or so I'll dump out the remaining water and give the inside a gentle wash with dishsoap and a cloth to remove the slight film that develops.
This thing pulls 700watts of power when heating, this lasts for about 15-20 mins or so depending on how much water's in the tank. It uses 30watts of power constantly to keep the water warm. If you're energy conscious like me: the energy it takes to heat up the water is about equivalent to 10 hours of "maintaining" the temperature. So if you'll be using the hot water again in less than 10 hours just leave it on.
Final note: the musical note it plays when it's ready with hot water after heating is like a mini-symphony, got a laugh out of it the first time I heard it.
My only complaint is that the magnetic plug is super easy to disconnect. That will take some getting used to. For safety reasons it’s good to know this product has that feature.

We returned and bought the CV-DCC40XT VE Made in Japan version, it holds heat WAY longer and quickly returns to desired temp. Definitely worth the extra 100$
It's a bit more expensive than others, but worth every pennies.
Con: plays an annoying/ loud sound when temp reached the desired temperature. Hope it’ll have a setting
One thing I didn’t like is that the putter body of the bottle is warm when touch. It feels like the bottle will need to continuously boil water to keep the temperature. The old one I had didn’t have this issue.
full of water need about 30mins to heat up to 100c.
