A chaotic mess of violence, sex, drugs and improbable action. It tries to bring the vicissitude of The Raid to the zombie genre and fails. No characters to care about. A vile trainwreck.
I do not like that half the movie is in mandarin with out English subtitles, half the time I didn't know what they were saying or what was going on. There should have been better information because I would not have ordered it.
karate is street fighting to Asians so it would seem natural that this movie contains so awesome zombie street fighter action! It's a weird story but its a zombie movie peeps and its good! I think its the best since Train to Busan! (not sure about spelling) The main characters are well developed for a zombie flick and the movie has plenty of jump scares. to keep you riding the terror wave! Watch this movie and you will thank me!
PLOT... Deep in the city there is a building riddled with crime and corruption (mainly drug dealers) A special team of police go inside to take them down, all of a sudden a zombie apocalypse happens and humanity is over in the blink of an eye due to a certain drug that's going around (no explanation) now its cops and criminals vs zombies in an all out survival of the fittest. But as events unfold for certain characters a new and more corrupt future is in store for the human race that are still alive.
As people have said this is largely a mash up of the Raid and the Horde and a whole load of other things, the movie is insane but and at some points makes no sense but its hugely entertaining probably due to the great first hour of the movie as its mindless violence and zombie killing action that is pretty non stop, The effects are questionable throughout as most of them are CGI unfortunately, the blood doesn't look too bad though and the gore is rather gruesome and good fun, its almost like a live action manga, probably the worst effects is when they do an explosion, CGI fire is horrible but there's not much of it, the zombie make-up looks great, the cast is all good, some cool fight scenes and lots of sexy half naked ladies throughout, the movie is in Mandarin for most part but there are English speaking actors too, the last 30 minutes of the movie gets weird and completely changes the pace of the story which slightly let it down, but hey its worth picking up cheap as its highly entertaining anyway, certainly worth a watch, a totally bonkers zombie killing bloodbath.
DVD cover art is nothing to do with the movie
DVD picture looks pretty good No features but a trailer Region 2, 91-mins, 2014.
This is an awesome zombie flick. Starts off in a run down apartment building. A drug dealer is sent a bad batch of pills. A girl takes one and turns into a zombie. After that all hell breaks lose. After an hour the movie switches to one year in the future. The surviving humans are forced underground. Most are turned into slaves in a Mad Max type of world, who are forced to fight for food and survival. The action is non-stop, and the gore lovers should be satisfied as well. The zombie makeup is excellent. The blood is computerized in many scenes but does not take away from the film. Going by the title, i thought i was in for an hour and a half of campy cheese. I was wrong. One of the best zombie films i've seen in awhile !!!
