From the Back Cover

In 2036 the zombie outbreak exploded throughout the world. Hundreds of thousands of people were being killed daily around the world. Nothing man did could stop the zombies. The zombies moved forward like a conquering army.

For nearly a year, the world as they knew it, had ground to a stop. Every utility, communication and transportation that had existed was gone. They had been replaced with surviving from one day to next.

During that same year the number of zombies had grown. They had been able to kill hundreds of millions or even several billion people worldwide. There was no way to keep an accurate count of the killed and missing. Adding to the zombie killings bandits were killing other survivors for their meager supplies.

The Destruction Begins follows groups of people as they fight to survive the zombie outbreak. They fight for their lives. They fight just to survive. A year of fighting nothing mankind did stopped the zombies. The human race was doomed.

After a year of the killings there was still no relief in sight. If the zombies could not be stopped, and stopped quickly, the human race on the planet Earth would cease to exist.

About the Author

LD has been in Las Vegas for over 46 years. He grew up on a working a cattle ranch near Silverton Oregon. During his last two years of high school, LD became a bull rider with the rodeo. In the late 1960's LD proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

After his duty in the Army LD moved to Las Vegas for his health. He programmed slot machines for casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. On his time off LD started to perform as a standup comedian in the casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. As his fame as a comedian grew so did his bookings.

LD is an outgoing person. Cubicle life was not for him. He left his programming job. He started a construction company remodeling homes in Las Vegas. After years of being a contractor, injuries, the desert heat as well as he was getting older made it difficult to work in construction. He sold his construction company.

After six months in Las Vegas LD performed as a standup comic. Following the sale of his construction company he took a booking on a cruise ship as a comedian. Years of late nights, smoky rooms and having to be funny wore on him. He left comedy for good.

Following comedy LD became real estate agent. After 25 years LD recently retired from real estate to pursue his writing full time.

LD had always had a pilot's license. He would fly the casino host's high-rollers or whales to one of the many legal bordellos in Nevada. He did this for many years. As his age and his many injuries from bull riding caught up with him, he was unable to be cleared to fly for hire any longer. This grounded LD's career as a pimp was over.

What he is most proud of is being married to his wonderful bride. Their marriage brought 6children together into a blended family. His hobbies are cooking and building hot rods.

Today, LD is a proud husband, father and grandfather to his blended family with 6 children and 4 grandchildren.

Drawing from his various careers LD is able to add a unique twist to his novels

L.D. King has been a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada for over 46 years. He grew up on a working cattle ranch near Silverton, Oregon. In high school he was a starting lineman for the football team. During his last two years of high school, he became a rodeo bull rider, and in the late 1960s, L.D. proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

After being discharged from the Army, L.D. moved to Las Vegas for his health. Oregon was too wet. His first job in Vegas was programming slot machines for casinos on the famous Vegas Strip. He also began performing standup comedy in his spare time.

Soon he left his day job programming slot machines and started a small construction company building and remodeling homes in the Las Vegas area. After many years of doing that, his bull riding injuries, the desert heat started to make him feel that he was getting a little long in the tooth, and he sold his company. Next he took a gig as a comic on a cruise ship plying the waters of the Mexican Riviera. After years of late nights and smoky rooms, L.D. left comedy for good.

Following comedy, became a residential real estate agent. For the next 25 years, he sold homes in Las Vegas.

In addition to all of that, throughout his time as a programmer, comedian, contractor and real estate agent, L.D. held a private pilot’s license. He offered a unique service to the casino hosts. He would fly their high rollers to one of the many legal bordellos in Nevada. He did this for many years, until his age and injuries from bull riding crept up on him and grounded his career as a flying pimp. He could still fly, just not with paying customers.

Now, after all of that, he has recently retired to pursue his writing full time.

Today, L.D. is a proud husband, father and grandfather to his blended family of six children and four grandchildren. His hobbies are cooking and building hotrods.

Drawing from his various careers LD is able to add a unique twist to his novels as he brings them to life.
