If there's been a zombie apocalypse and you're road-tripping alone though the wasteland, you could do worse than run into Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), a bourbon-swilling bad-boy butt-kicker with a really cool car. This is where the careful hero of Zombieland, a kid nicknamed Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), finds himself early in the film, and you can hardly blame him for hitching a ride with this swaggering Alpha Male. Still, they have their hands full not only with gibbering zombies but also with two sisters (Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin) who will stop at nothing to reach a Disneyland-like amusement park in L.A. Although Zombieland gets off to a rocky start with Columbus's overly-cute narration (he's got a list of rules for surviving in the zombie world), it settles into an amusing comedy, regularly interrupted by bouts of blood-letting. The road-trip stuff is enough fun that when the movie does arrive at its version of Disneyland, the air goes out of it a little; sure, there's a giant zombie blowout, with entrails flying, but it's not quite the same. Director Ruben Fleischer keeps the gags coming, although the movie is often funnier in its odd little asides (both Eisenberg and Harrelson are expert at this) than in its official jokes. Comic high point: an interlude at the home of a very famous movie star, who plays himself--and we'll leave the spoiler unspoiled, in case anybody hasn't heard about this funny extended cameo. --Robert Horton

New all good. I noticed it's cheaper buying 1 & 2 seperate. Plus if they are on one disk, you lose both if it ever gets damaged.

Bloody.
Violent.
Funny.
Three words that don't always go together but they're all appropriate when we're talking about "Zombieland."
This is a movie that turns the whole zombie genre on its ear and, at least in my opinion, that's a good thing. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the "Resident Evil" movies and a few others but, honestly, there are way too many zombie flicks out there and way too many of them are formulaic.
In the end, it comes down to this: Too much of a good thing is still too much.
That said, "Zombieland" is anything but formulaic. For example: Watching Amber Heard - one of the most beautiful women in the world - turn into a zombie and then chase Jesse Eisenberg around his apartment lets the viewer know right away that this is not your run-of-the-mill horror movie. Watching Woody Harrelson fight zombies with a banjo just reinforces that fact.
This movie has been reviewed a thousand times or more so I'm not going to spend a lot of time talking about the plot. I'll simply say that the cast - including a wonderful sequence with Bill Murray - does the very funny script proud. The make-up and costuming are top notch and the cinematography is very good. There is a lot of violence in this movie and that might bother some viewers but it didn't trouble me in this instance because it's done to parody so many also-ran zombie movies. As satire, it is brilliant.
Great flick: 5 stars.

A road trip of sorts with an uneasy alliance between four survivors of a zombie apocalypse. There's a yammering moron (Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus) who `performs' the narration with an irritating one-note drone that drove me to distraction (forget the `rules' just shut up shut up SHUT UP!). I kept hoping the zombies would get him. He's joined by a loud-mouth yahoo in a hat (Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee). Normally, I can't abide Harrelson in anything but found him quite amusing here, he singlehandedly salvaged the film for me. I didn't expect that. Then there are two con-artist sisters (Emma Stone as Wichita and Abigail Breslin as Little Rock). They repeat the same circumstance, which comes across as a lazy plot device. Also, the story all but shrieks to a standstill when they're in a mansion dancing and trying to make out. Why wasn't there any tension/suspense? Where was the much anticipated zombie action? I like my zombie movies on the ferocious side of murderous. The point is to dwindle the main cast. When that doesn't happen, it's infuriating. Basically, the zombies were just a backdrop, they could have been pigs or ducks, it didn't matter. This was just a road trip. Sadly, they meant for it to be funny not scary. Still, it had its moments, enough for me to begrudgingly like it (I would have loved it without the unnecessary narration and the dope doing it). There was supposed to be a sequel but too much time has passed, it's less relevant now.

I have watched this movie that I have received from amazon. Zombieland is a good movie by itself, as I have watched it before. But the quality of the dvd I have recieved is even better than the first time I watched it. The image was crisp, clear, and almost real to me, and it isn't even blue ray. The movie itself, a zombie movie, consists of good humor and good gore. (spoiler) I didn't even get sick as the clown zombie's head was smashed in. (end spoiler) Most of the zombie movies I have watched were more serious than funny, and the mood usually got in the way of my enjoyment of the movie. when I watched Sean of the Dead, it was funny, yes, but the humor was unnecessary and almost sickening at some parts. While I do sometimes enjoy British humor, I will never understand it. Zombieland offered a different sort of humor. It was funny, I understood it, and it almost helped with character development. all in all, it was a very good movie. I look forward to when my brother can watch it. He doesn't like zombie movies, but he said this one looked good. And it was.

I bought this dvd for a friend who is really into post-apocalyptic zombie films. This one has a mix of dark humour, combined with plenty of gore. Woody Harrelson, who plays the character, Tallahassee, steals a lot of scenes with his wacky personality and expert zombie killing skills. It's a fun watch to be entertained. Disc came in good condition!

The movie was a few days late but other than that all was well. It was in the proper packaging and it didn't look like a home made copy.
