Anyway, when I saw this I bought it. I do not think the price fits it, and it is for sure overpriced. I do not like the material very much because it does remain wet and does not seem to stay dry very well. It bled when I cleaned it, and the platform does not stay in place very well. I finally just removed the string, attached the bag, and added rocks because the draw stings on the bag are so long. Now, this is in an almost 6ft pond. The bag touches the bottom even after removing the string and tying the string bags to the platform. That is some long strings.
Despite these flaws, it works well for what I need it to do and is large. It fits perfectly in the corner of my pond, and I love that it goes slightly into the water. The material allows for my turtle (who does not do well with most ramps) to get on it and bask. She was on it within 10mins, and she seemed rather content on it. She uses it to hide as well, and she loves to push it around like a toy. I love that she is able to enjoy the sun, mostly because she has not wanted to bask on everything I built for her. She has gone three months without getting on anything including a custom ramp and platform. For her to love this one came as a surprise and a relief. I look forward to enjoying her more watching her bask. I also love it looks so natural. To be honest, I could not even tell it was fake. The platform looks like a large stone, and I even prepared to lift it up only to realize how light it was. I loved that it looks so natural while not disturbing the look of my pond.
Great product.
Anyway, I tied an old weight to this (the instructions suggest rocks, but I was afraid it would get moved by the strong winds that occasionally blow across the lake) and anchored it by the water's edge. I like that it looks natural, like a rock, and not brightly colored.
To my delight I saw a small turtle investigate it the same day I placed it in the water! The next day, I got a glimpse of a turtle sunning herself on it! But when I ran back into the house to get my cell phone, she was gone!
I did this daily for a week lol.... trying to be quiet and get a pic.
Last week - victory! I got a really nice beautiful picture which I hope I can post here. Today I got a video of TWO turtles on the rock, and another swimming by!!
I just love this - which is more of a floating rock than a dock .....
I thought if for some reason I accidentally run over it with my little electrical boat, I DEFINITELY intend to buy another.
Heck, not waiting for that, I adore this so much I intend to buy another when another one is in stock so more turtles can sun. It’s so cool to watch nature...

I also appreciate that the bottom stays well enough in the water for the plecos to attach and hide in a nice dark area away from the prying eyes of my cats. I was concerned about the turtles making so much mess that the dock would begin to deteriorate or get slimy, but when I installed it I also changed their substrate to sand (quickrete pool sand from home depot, thoroughly rinsed) and have had zero issues. In fact, this is the most spacious and clean their tank has ever been.
I believe with proper care, I will have this dock for years to come and I really look forward to installing it in the pond I will eventually make for these little guys. For anyone concerned about the investment, I highly recommend getting it when you can afford it... You will spend more in the long run on a multitude of other dock areas that will only disappoint. If the dimensions of this dock will fit in your tank or pond, it is worth the cost and your shell kids will love you!
