Features include a 6 foot remote sensor probe, a dual port plug receptacle to control multiple heating devices, and adhesive pads for mounting. Excellent for use with Zoo Meds Ceramic Heat Emitter and the Reptile Therm Under Tank Heater. Safety cover prevents accidental bumping of the temperature control dial. When used in conjunction with a timer, natural conditions are replicated by providing the proper photoperiod for your reptile, along with a beneficial nighttime temperature drop (consult a good book on your species to determine its specific temperature requirements). Range is from approximately 70° to 110°F (21° to 43C).

So I've been using this now for about a month. Currently, it's hooked up to two Zoo Med Deluxe Porcelain Clamp Lamps (10 inch dome), and both are outfitted with a 100-watt ceramic heat emitter (also Zoo Med).
Let me just say that I'm incredibly pleased with this thermostat. It's relatively inexpensive, and I paired it with a digital thermometer ($7) to make up for the face that it does NOT have a digital display. I repeat, this is an ANALOG temperature-dial thermostat WITHOUT degrees printed on the dial. Instead, it works from low to high, from green to red with a yellow line in the center that I assume is meant to represent 90 degrees. I eyeballed the dial the first time I set it, and monitored it closely with the digital thermometer (which you should do with any new thermostat, to make sure it's reading temperatures properly). After a few hours, and some dial fiddling, I got it set to the right place and I haven't had any problems since. I do check my setup maybe once or twice a day to make sure the dial hasn't moved, since the slide-on guard doesn't work with the plugs for the domes I have. Again, I've had no major issues and for that I'm very happy with this product.
That being said, I wouldn't recommend it for every setup. It does a good job of keeping the temperature steady, but I have noticed that there is some fluctuation. For my purposes, the fluctuation (around 1-2.5 degrees) isn't a problem, but if you, for some reason, need a very exact temperature, I wouldn't go with this thermostat. Also, the dial works for me because I need a constant ~79 degree heat, day and night. The manual states that you would need an external timer to set up automatic day-night cycles, which works best if you need a certain day temperature but cold winter nights aren't a problem. I wouldn't recommend this for manual cycling because the dial makes it very difficult to judge a temperature. Basically, if you need a set temperature 24/7, it works well, but if you're going to be changing the temperature regularly, it would probably get pretty complicated.
I have been using this about 3 weeks now with a CHE (ceramic heating element) and it keeps temperature very well. I should mention that it does NOT have numbers on the dial, but just a High-Low type of control, so you WILL need a thermometer to get things set up. I have left my digital thermometer in place and the temp seems to stay within a degree (Maybe two if it's more chilly at night-- I'm in Wisconsin and we haven't turned the furnace on yet) since I've started using this thermostat for my tortoise.
The only thing I find slightly annoying is that they have supplied a safety cover (to make sure you don't accidentally bump the thermostat controls once you have set it) and there are some slots on the bottom to allow for the plug cords. Well, I have it set up with a ZooMed CHE placed in a ZooMed metal cage clamp fixture... But the slots are TOO SMALL for the plug of their own lamp fixture... You just would think they would've styled this to be used with their own branded products, don't you?
So... I can't really effectively use the safety cover-- But other than that, a fine product.
UPDATE 2-16-17 NOW DEAD. SO, 3-1/2 YEARS USE. WORKED GREAT AND THEN JUST WOULDNT TURN CHE ON TO HEAT ANYMORE. NOT SURE HOW LONG THESE SHOULD LAST, WAS HOPING A BIT LONGER,BUT WAS FINE WHILE IT LASTED!! Came to order a new thermostat. Have decided to try another brand to see how that one is--
Yes, you do get what you pay for, and at this price point I was not expecting too much. I used this for a couple months to regulate 3 UTH's on 3 10 gallon tanks that were in my QT area. . . they did OK for regulating the heating pads, I used lights on a dimmer / timer to stimulate not drop temps, and this set up worked very good for the price . . . now I've moved to a rack system, and moved this from my QT 10 gallon tanks to just a simple rack with 9 tubs on 3 lines with 3" Flexwatt. Ok it worked pretty decent for the first month on this set up, but as of today temperatures can no longer hold stable. It seems like the split channel is not opperating evenly, so I plugged a power strip into one channel and all 3 lines into it. Again, the temperature variance was tremendous, and the drops and high points were insane... I've gone to a back up Hydrofarm t-stat for the time being, but I am pretty dissappointed that this t-stat failed after such a short period of time. My hydrofarms have worked ok(ignoring the thermometer on board since it is bonkers off), but I have herpstats on the way for the rack, and even for my display tanks to consolidate all my heating elements. If you can afford better, save yourself time and a little money by buying better initially. If this is for a 10-20 gallon tank with 1 single undertank heater, you'll probably be fine for the long haul, but do not expect this to work with multiple tanks / pads / tape. it just does not seem to put up to the "abuse" of this low wattage system. But if you need cheap, I might also advise you go check out the hydrofarm t-stat over this. You'll be happy with the digital readout, and electronic controls, plus the grounded plug is a benefit for those who have grounded surge strips. Cheers.
The shipping for this item was very impressive. It was ordered on a Monday and was here by that Thursday! I use this for my ball python. The product is great, it does its job. It has a space for both the heat pad and lamp to plug in. The only thing I would change is that it doesn't say on the thermostat what you're changing the temperature to. But I have a thermometer so it works out in the end.
I've only been using this for about a day. As mentioned, a user needs to experiment with the dial, using a separate thermometer (as there is no display for temp on this unit), to figure out where the dial should rest for optimal shut off temperature. That's fine.
But I'm having a hard time figuring out what the sensor's sensitivity is. It seems to vary by more than two degrees - its possibly four degrees? Still trying to figure it out based on the temp its shutting off and turning on at.
I'll have to spend more time watching the thermometer in the hot side at the current setting before I'm comfortable leaving my lizard to the mercy of this thermostat in the summer. If your home has highly variable ambiant temperatures, I'd recommend a higher end thermostat. I'll probably end up keeping this as a back up, as my room is heated by a radiator without a thermostat. I'd be less concerned if I had better climate control in my house.
Wish the dial had numbers, it would make it so much easier to set this thermostat accurately. Overall it's never failed but getting the temperatures right has been a pain
