Product Description

All the animals at the Franklin Park Zoo love their kindhearted caretaker, Griffin Keyes (Kevin James). Finding himself more comfortable with a lion than a lady, Griffin decides the only way to get the girl of his dreams is to leave the zoo and find a more glamorous job to win her over. The animals, in a panic, decide to break their time-honored code of silence and reveal their biggest secret: they can talk! To keep Griffin from leaving, they decide to teach him the rules of courtship – animal style! Also featuring the voices of Cher, Nick Nolte, Adam Sandler and Sylvester Stallone.

Picture talking animals giving mating advice to a zookeeper who's an absolute loser with women, add a hefty dose of slapstick humor, and you've pretty much summed up Zookeeper. Griffin is a disaster with the ladies, as was proved by his failed marriage proposal to the self-absorbed Stephanie several years ago, but he's really good with animals. The animals have listened to Griffin pine over Stephanie for years, so when they overhear Stephanie saying that perhaps her rejection of Griffin was too hasty, they take action. They decide to help Griffin rekindle the relationship and become the alpha male that Stephanie wants him to be. The animals are masters at mating, but their plan to show Griffin how to act quickly breaks down and they inadvertently begin talking out loud to him. After his initial shock, Griffin starts to take the animals' advice seriously--from how to walk and roar to the extreme of marking his territory. Surprisingly, the animals' advice really works and Griffin is about to get everything he's ever dreamed of--or is he? There's plenty of star power in this film--from Kevin James as Griffin, to the voice talents of Sylvester Stallone as Joe the lion and Cher as his lioness, Adam Sandler as Donald the monkey, and Nick Nolte as Bernie the gorilla--but somehow they're all somewhat underwhelming. This film has more than its share of cheap laughs, often at the expense of some part of Griffin's body, and some viewers will find that just right for a night's entertainment. Those looking for a moral to the story will discover that it's wise to be careful what you wish for and that what you think you want may not be anything like what you really need. Zookeeper isn't a great film destined for repeated watchings, but it's not meant to be--it's a comedy that will make you laugh a bit today and forget it the second you leave the theater. (Ages 10 and older) --Tami Horiuchi

This movie will make you laugh. And, to all you wannbe movie critics, that are writing entire books and spoling the movie, remember what you are watching, a clean comedy. This is a great movie to watch with your wife and children. It is clean, no cursing, nudity or drug use. Just clean and funny, which is very hard to find in todays media market. Also, the synopsis is misleading, the animals show him nothing about mating it was more about how they would win the girl.

I would give this movie more than 5 stars if there was that option. Kevin James is his usual funny self and what can I say about his leading lady Rosario Dawson. Gee, I love that woman. Kevin and Rosario make a great pair. I would recommend this movie to any who would want to watch a feel good romantic movie with a happy ending.

Another exceptional comedy, from the fusion of the Adam Sandler crew + Kevin James gang. And now the addition of the Joe Rogan MMA crew. This combination, now in movie 2, after Here Comes the Boom, makes for a very, very funny comedy, all somehow in a PG-rated flick.

A hilarious movie that you can watch with your kids, GF/BF, or pals from the gym. Make a double-feature of it and start with HCTB. Great laughs, impressive eclectic collection of voice actors; entertaining, start to finish.

This movie is really cute. I can't give it a 5-star rating as it is not quite "Pride & Prejudice" lol...but I did buy it as I know I will want to watch it again. Kevin James is always funny ~ so I never mind watching him...loved him in "Hitch." The plot is here is a real stretch, of course, but seeing as that is the whole point, I went along with it...kinda like a Dr Doolittle theme but with a twist...
so, all in all, not a top-of-the-heap quality movie here, but for anyone looking for a light bit of entertainment, this is one diverting choice.

Maya Rudolph's voice is so distinct! I didn't recognize most of the animal voices, but hers is hard to miss. I hadn't realized she was in the movie until I heard the giraffe speak.

Delightful family rom com.

Nothing deep. No great learning moments but cute movie. Animals were basically adorable. Loyalty a recurring theme.

I'm not sure I could watch a second time, but I can recommend for at least one watch.

We (as in husband, myself and three kids 5, 4, 18 months) all lived this movie. My two oldest had a couple pretty good belly laughs... I think Kevin James is hilarious so be forewarned if his style of comedy doesn't appeal to you neither will this movie! It has subtle adult humor and a sweet love story flowing in the understory.

I thought this film was a pretty awesome family movie. It was pretty hilarious. James plays a guy who LOVES being a zookeeper. Heck, even the animals love him. But when a girl that dumped him years ago suddenly comes back into his life, he is encouraged by the animals (who talk to him) to go after her again. The only problem is that she wants him to change... to become something he really isn't. The animals help him with lessons on how to win his ex back... then slowly start to regret the decision as she tries to move him out of his life as a zookeeper.

If you like Kevin James's humor... you will like this movie. The special effects were amazing... I kept wondering how they got the animals to 'act'. Fans of BOSTON will love the end/credit sequences... you have to see it... it's hilarious.

Good movie. Kevin James performed as expected and as with most of his movies, he delivered. No stupid cliché message's and nothing PC being crammed down our throats. Just good entertainment. Just like they use to do.
