This motherboard worked great while I was putting together my HTPC using my 5+ year old Vizio. Then when I received my new TV to go along with my new entertainment center. That's when I realized there was a problem. According to the Zotac forum this is a known issue from over 10 months ago and yet there is no fix available from them. From what I understan you can perform a EDID override but I am not interested in trying that. This product has been returned.

The board has two ATA controllers, one is for SATA and actually the other one is a PATA controller. The PATA controller controls the 4th SATA connector on the board (Yes, although it is a SATA port, it is working in PATA mode), while the SATA controller controls the other 3 and the eSATA port.

So all SATA only features like NCQ won't be functional on drive that connected to the port.

I bought this board and everything went fine until I tried to connect with HDMI. This board will not work with HDMI and this issue is well documented on the forums of ZOTAC here: [...]
This is major flaw and this should never have been released like this. I will not be buying another Zotac Product.

Be forewarned...
If you are planning on using this board to build an HTPC with linux (in my case Ubuntu 12.04 and XBMC) the HDMI port works great for video on the open drivers but does not have audio. In order to get audio I am told you need to install the proprietary fglrx drivers from AMD. With the proprietary drivers installed however you get no video output on the HDMI whatsoever. Its very frustrating. I have tried both the Ubuntu repo available drivers as well as the 12.6 beta driver from ATI's website. No joy. Debating returning this or switching to DVI and optical out for audio.. Haven't decided which I would like to do yet.
