Great upgrade!

A major upgrade from what shipped with my transmitter. (magnet mount telescoping single pole) Signal strength almost doubled and the transmitter is running cooler. Range in considerably better with much less multi-path or fade. This is well constructed and sturdy. I've had a similar unit in the past and this one is much sturdier and is aluminum where the other was flimsy steel that rusts easily. This should handle outside use just fine.Some reviewers complained about no instructions but you really don't need any. The only tricky part is connecting the coax to the center pole inside a tube. One screw releases the tube so you can feed the coax through it, connect and remount the tube. The pieces are self explanatory and it took all of maybe 5 minutes to assemble and another 5 to pole mount it. I presently have it on a 20" temporary tripod for testing. Having 5 center pieces to tune more closely is a great idea. Results are so good I worry about attracting too much attention.

The antenna works better than the supplied antenna I got with my 7 watt FM transmitter. No assembly instructions so I had to do an internet search to find a description of how to put it together. In reality, assembly is pretty simple. I just received it so I am still testing it at various frequencies. I like the way it comes apart and is easy to store.

This antenna is easy to assemble and is built out of robust, but repairable parts. I did shorten the (shortest) antenna (section) as well as the radials since I'm using this primarily for the 146.520 range. I have had several QSOs and have been pleased with the performance of this unit.

Waiting for mine to arrive. I notice it does not have a cable to ground it. I get a lot of lightning where I'm at when it storms. If I put this on my roof, what are the odds lightning will damage antenna and transmitter? Looks like it has rubber antennas
