Works on Military CAC cards
This is a smart card reader words on Common Access Cards (also known as a CAC card). My husband wanted to use the smart card reader for CAC card sites. When I plugged in the smart reader I had the typical ding notification that a new device had been loaded into the port. My computer must have instantly downloaded drivers because I didn’t need to do any searching for it to work. Everything worked exactly as it was supposed to and he was able to log on from home.This smart card reader comes with a disk for downloading. However, my computer does not have a disk reader. I was lucky enough not to need the disk. I think this needs to be a major consideration before purchasing. A lot of laptops no longer have disk readers.The material is a heavy feeling plastic, and it does feel solid. It has a light on the front of it letting you know when it is use. The cord is long, so you could use it on a laptop or on a desktop with ease.I received this item for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
