Product Description

Tupolev TU-154M Airliner 500787004 ZVEZDA is the largest Russian manufacturer of high-quality and attractively priced plastic model kits. For more than 20 years, there has been a wide range of exemplary kits in scales from 1:35 to 1:350. The focus is on a scale of 1:72 as well as models of World War II. Ground, air and watercraft, figures and fortresses, historical and current, ZVEZDA has kits for all modelers. Each individual kit is characterized by fine details. As a rule, ZVEZDA models are kits that can be painted according to their own ideas. Separately available paints, glue and small tools are required for completion. Length of model: 333 mm. Number of parts: 76. Warning: Not suitable for children under 14 years.

      The TU-154 is a beautiful airliner and Zvezda's kit captures this well. Overall fit is terrific and very little filler is needed. However, there are some issues that make the finished kit look a little odd unless you have the patience to fix the problems. First, the plastic is very soft and hence the wings are very warped. I tried to apply heat and bend the wings, but no matter what I tried, the wing would always return to its warped state. The result is that on the finished model one can clearly see that one wing droops lower than the other. Also, the contour on the canopy piece does not match the contour of the fuselage. I never was able to correct this problem either. The landing gear looks terrific but is fiddly to assemble. I would also recommend aftermarket decals as Zvezda's decals are sometimes of questionable quality.
