aerolatte Milk Frothers - the Original and Best!
For many years aerolatte focussed exclusively on developing hand-held devices that were designed to provide users with the optimum frothing capability. This meticulous approach resulted in a premium-quality product that is a firm favourite amongst both coffee lovers and professional chefs.
The materials and components used to manufacture the aerolatte frothers are crucial in ensuring the exceptional performance and longevity for which they are renowned.
All aerolatte frothers contain a motor that operates at a ‘dry’ rotation speed and torque that is specific to the function of foaming milk. If a motor spins either too slowly or too quickly, the quality of the froth will be compromised. An incorrect level of torque will result in excessive demand being placed upon the motor, increasing the likelihood of premature failure.
Shaft and Spiral Whisking Head
Both components are made from food-approved 18/8 stainless steel. The steel used for the shaft is hardened and thickened in order to protect against bending and to increase robustness. The spiral whisking head is cut from a purpose-produced spring. The density and tightness of the coils promote effective frothing.
The aerolatte handles are made from moulded virgin ABS plastic. The material ensures durability and the correct adhesion factor for subsequent electroplating.
Once moulded, the handle of the chrome and satin versions is electroplated separately in both brass and chrome. The satin model is then also dipped into liquid aluminium. The finishes are polished in order to produce a handle that will not diminish over time and boasts the true ‘cold’ feel of metal.
Screws and Contacts
The screws are made from rust-proof stainless steel that is resistant to the damp environment of the kitchen. Similarly, the battery and motor contact plates are nickel-coated in order to prevent corrosion.
All frothers come complete with two aerolatte-branded AA alkaline batteries that are pre-installed. The batteries have the same specification as other premium-quality alkaline brands and are mercury and cadmium-free. The batteries should be replaced when the motor noticeably slows and the shaft begins to wobble (after approximately 150 uses). Any equivalent alkaline batteries will be suitable.
Uses - for Milk and Beyond!
Although primarily designed for whisking milk - and ideal for concocting a wide variety of hot and cold drinks - aerolatte frothers can also be used to prepare food. They are perfect for creating sauces such as vinaigrette and hollandaise in a small jug, as well as tempting desserts such as zabaglione. They can be used to make gravy and soup in a small bowl and to whisk egg whites and mixtures in order to produce mayonnaise, omelettes, custard, meringues etc.
After usage, your aerolatte frother can be easily cleaned by rinsing the whisking head and shaft under the tap/faucet. Periodically the unit should be operated in hot, soapy water in order to maintain performance. Simply switch the device on for several seconds in order to dry.
The handle can be cleaned by wiping it with a damp cloth. Care should be taken to ensure that the handle, motor housing and battery compartment do not come into direct contact with water. The device is not compatible with dishwashers.
The aerolatte frothers are guaranteed for a period of two years under normal domestic usage, in accordance with the care and use instructions provided. Visit www.aerolatte.com/support/aerolatte-original for specific product support (if necessary).
About aerolatte - the Incredibly Frothy Coffee Company
aerolatte was established in 1999 in order to offer a solution for making perfect frothy milk - something that its founders didn’t believe was possible using steam-based machines. The company’s hand-held, battery-operated device, known as the ‘original steam-free milk frother’, was the first of its kind within the international market and revolutionised the way we enjoy cappuccino, caffè latte, hot chocolate and milkshakes at home.
Following the release of the widely-acclaimed chrome model, aerolatte focused on producing a range of frothers that were suitable for a wide array of customers. This included specific variations in materials, finishes, designs and packaging.
In 2011, aerolatte made a conscious decision to expand into the ever-evolving world of home coffee. Since then the company has developed an innovative collection of products that are contemporary designs of traditional items. This includes French presses, espresso and moka pots, fully-automated electric frothing machines and a selection of practical accessories.
Whatever the product, the objective of aerolatte remains the same: to allow the consumer to achieve professional results at home, simply and easily.
Whip up an easy after-dinner cappuccino for guests with this steam-free frother with stand from Aerolatte. The frother foams skim, whole, and soy milk alike for fluffy hot café lattes or cold chocolate malts in seconds. (Frothing water-based powdered milk is not recommended.)
The frother features a sleek chrome body with a slender 18/8 stainless-steel whisk, designed for optimum foaming efficiency, and is compact for easy travel. Two installed AA batteries power the whisk as it froths milk up to 60 degrees C. For best results, turn on the frother with whisk placed near the base of the mug and slowly raise and lower the unit as foam develops. Foam forms in only 15 to 20 seconds. To avoid splatters, turn the frother off before removing from the beverage. The included chrome stand holds the frother secure while protecting the whisk wand with a sturdy, circular base and two sets of arms that fit snug around the frother body.
To clean the frother, run the whisk in hot soapy water and rinse. Wipe the body with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the frother in water or place in the dishwasher. Aerolatte offers a five-year guarantee against defective parts or craftsmanship for this product. The frother measures 8-3/4 inches long, and weighs 1 pound upon shipping.
Top Customer Reviews
Never heard back AT ALL from Aerolatte about their 5 yr warranty. Not a peep. After I posted my negative review Amazon contacted me & sent a new unit which arrived mid-June. I used it 1x per day for 8 weeks (was away for about 4 weeks) to froth about 8 oz of milk for my coffee. I treated it very gingerly since I knew it too be fragile. Today I picked up the unit from it's stand & realized the stem had fallen out & was on the counter. The unit had never been dropped, knocked, bent... nothing. And this is the Deluxe heavier duty model.
I would have given this a one-star, except it does froth milk nicely. This is one of the few items I have ever reviewed, and probably it is the only negative reviews I've given. (So I'm not just a nattering nabob of negativity.) But $28+ for a daily-use item that doesn't last two months? From a manufacturer that won't even respond about it's supposedly "5-year" warranty? Somebody has to say something.
June 3 2016 Review:
Purchased Aerolatte Deluxe Edition Frother in mid-December 2015, on June 3 it broke. This does not seem like good value for a $28+ item. The stem just fell out of the motor. Didn't drop it, ever. Always kept on the stand. But in last week of use the whole unit had started to vibrate a LOT. Not sure if that caused stem to break or if it was a result of stem coming loose.Or maybe unrelated. I've read that the Deluxe Edition is supposed to be sturdier than the regular version. Really?!?
Other reviewers report difficulty with customer service & having to send defective unit at own expense back to UK which costs as much as unit. Doesn't sound good at all, since it makes 5 year warranty essentially WORTHLESS. Hope they do better.
Used unit 2x per day nearly every day. It frothed most milk well. (Seemed to do less well when milk less fresh?) Batteries didn't last long, so purchased 2 pair rechargables & swapped out every few days.
I love the sturdiness of the stainless steel construction of this Deluxe model, BUT the motor is noticeably weeker than the standard one. I can see and feel it slow down in the milk.
It is fine for my use since I'm not actually frothing milk, just mixing instant coffee into hot milk for café con leché.
I do not think it would work as well as the others.
I had hoped it would fit in the travel case from the standard model that I broke, but it does not.
I will eventually buy another standard model for travel. What I do not like about the standard model is that the sliding on/off switch does not have a solid stopping point, and I broke the switch by sliding it too far. However, I am not known to have a delicate touch, so, others may not have this problem.
My favourite one, for home use, is made by COSO. It has the same power (more than adequate) as Aero Laté's Standard model, BUT has a much better PUSH Button for O/Off. I have not damaged this one.
I can't remember the full name of the other one but it has French in the name.
Maybe "French Chef" or something.
It uses 4 AA Batteries and is very powerful, and uses a Push Button on top of it. It feels like it could almost make a milk shake from real ice cream. It is much larger in circumference than the before mentioned, but if you really need power it is the one to go with.
For myself, I prefer the Coso, but if I were making a few or several at once, I prefer the French one. You do have to be careful not to sling coffee with the French one.
The Frech one would probably be great for Protein shakes, and "Smoothies" made from powder.
it standing handily by my Expresso machine. I had the portable version. The new one has 1/3 the
power that the old portable version has and so it has become almost useless to me.Aerolatte 1 Stainless-Steel Deluxe Edition Frother with Stand, Chrome
