Apparently it's legal as long it's not concealed EXCEPT IN NYC. They have a 4" blade max. As long as you aren't threatening or "intimidating" others it's okay in most of New York.

I like this knife. The finger grooves on the handle fit my medium sized hands quite well and the butt is sturdy enough to use as a makeshift hammer. I've never owned a Morakniv so I can't compare.
