I use my tuner in conjunction with my MFJ antenna analyzer also my yaesu 891 has swr built in, however if you are using an swr meter you can find a frequncy that is not in use and perform short key ups with your call sign until you retrieve the closest swr that you can get. these are the settings i have set that give my ft 891 a 1 to 1.5 swr on most bands. Remember however that this will vary depending on your antenna system. im using a vertical dipole with radials. at 20 feet.
10 meters 28,400 transmitter 7 antenna 0 inductance B
20 meters 14.500 transmitter 0 antenna 2 Inductance B
40 meters 7.175 transmitter 0 antenna 3 Inductance L
80 meters 3.800 transmitter 3.5 antenna 3.5 inductance K

There also many great Utube videos on using an antenna tuner, many antenna tuners have built in SWR and Wattmeter's but this one does not. It is a small meter and best suited to be used with very low power radios , mostly QRP radios is it's best use. It is a coax only tuner so if you wish to use it with a wire antenna you will need to run an outboard UNUN like a 9 to 1 or a 4 to 1 remote balun . 73 J
