Does the USB NAS have a drive/partition size limit? The ASUS 56 router does. How is the NAS speed?

I believe it's 2TB per USB port. But check the Asus product page to be sure. The speed is fine as long as you have good bandwidth.

Hello XL,
The official limit is 2TB. However, tests have confirmed that more storage can work.

I have a 750 GB USB external drive hooked into the router. No issues. Transfers are quicker than with my old router, but still USB 2.0 speeds. This router would be a grand slam with USB 3.0 ports. Surprised it didn't have them, but it wasn't primary reason why I bought it. Needed the wireless speed and extra range, and… see more I have a 750 GB USB external drive hooked into the router. I don't know if there's a limit. I have a 1tb drive on a Rosewill sata-to-USB 2.0 dock and the speeds are not terribly good as far as file transfers go. I find the speed adequate for torrents and streaming, however, and never had a problem. If I had an NAS box, USB might not be my first choice. I have only used the router function. I bought it for its long range and haven't used other features. Range is excellent and I'm happy with it.

I never plugged my NAS into the USB port of the router. With all the problems I had with this brick, why add to it.
