The battery life is definitely on the short side, but with three batteries, one being the wasabi one, there was only once in our recent trip that I got to battery #3, and I tend to take a lot of pictures. I did get to battery #2 several times. The batteries charge only outside the camera in the wall charger, which is 120/240, so you can't charge it with your computer, at least without buying something that could do that--if such a thing exists. They charge relatively fast, though, so you can recharge them all in the evening and be ready to go the next morning. see less The battery life is definitely on the short side, but with three batteries, one being the wasabi one, there was only once in our recent trip that I got to battery #3, and I tend to take a lot of pictures. You can probably take over 300 pictures and 15 minutes of video using these two batteries. The camera comes with a wall charger, which is 120/240, and charges the battery in a few hours. You cannot use your computer to charge the battery. I would also suggest you get two 8 gb, class 10, micro sd cards, because Class 10 buffers your pictures and video much faster, allowing you to take pictures quicker. I would get two 8 gb micro sd cards instead of one 16 gb micro sd card, in case one card happens to go bad when you are taking important pictures. The Case Logic Case for $7.99 is great, and you can fit an extra battery and micro sd card in the zippered side pocket. It also has a belt loop. see less The battery that comes with the camera lasts me a full day of shooting pictures and video.
