You have to run cloud based applications (mostly) that are specifically made for Google Chrome OS. This also not Android, but there are similarities. Many Android applications are getting ported to Google Chrome OS. This is not the traditional laptop you are used to. However, it's possible to get everything done with this machine as you could with a laptop. However you are dependent in most cases on a WIFI connection (depending what apps are installed on your Chromebook). You cannot run windows applications on this laptop and thus you cannot install windows programs on this machine. It actually runs on Google's own OS. It's a Chrome Operating System. Does not have all the problems that Microsoft has and does not require a antivirus as it has its own built in one.

No. It has the Chrome OS. This is a fundamental departure from a windows laptop.
