Why can't I insert a disk? It looks like a piece is missing because the disk does not sit down in the tray.

It was difficult for me at first to get used to putting a disk in the vertical tray. Try placing it carefully and make sure it is in the indentation and it should stay as the drawer closes. There is nothing in the center, etc that clicks the disk in place or anything, it will just stay there if placed carefully. It is different...the tray is sideways. Make sure that you hold carefully the disk while snapping into position.
