Purchased this for use with our 27 month, 30 lb grandson and it was fabulous! Lightweight and easily portable, yet very secure when all the straps are used with a dining chair. I believe the recommended manufacturer's weight was 50 lbs.

I have a 20 month old and a 3 year old that both use the seat comfortably with plenty of room to grow.

I have 1 niece that is 3 - probably an average size for a 3 year old - she fits it great. My other niece is 6 and she is just barely to big- they worked great and for the price it was a no brainer

My youngest daughter started using the seat at 17 months. I also have another daughter who is four years old and still uses the seat.

I began using it as soon as my children could sit up on their own and begin to self-feed. It was a great alternative to the bulky high chair.

I purchased this seat for my 3 year old daughter (she's tiny only 25 lbs) but my 15 month old has used it before. I would say it would be suitable for a child that has been sitting up unassisted for a while...maybe 12+ months. Not sure what the manufacturer recommends.
