I can tell you from personal experience that the difference is night and day ! The Sleep Innovations mattress beats the Tempurpedic hands down in comfort and price. We were so happy with our experience that we purchased one not only for our master but another one for one of our guest bedrooms. If I had to rate both mattresses I'd give my Tempurpedic a 6 and the 12" S.I Sure Temp a 8. The best part is the Sure Temp costs only a qarter of what we paid for the Tempurpedic ! see less We own a Tempurpedic mattress which cost us well over $2000 and recently visited a friend and their guest bedroom had the 12" Sleep Innovations Sure Temp mattress. The TempurPedic could at times feel uncomfortably warm, temperature-wise (I suspect that I would toss from time to time due to feeling uncomfortably warm due to mattress materials). The first night I sat then lay on this one, I felt like crying; it was like being in a cozy cloud. It feels firm, but it does adapt to the body when you lie in it. I have slept well and been completely comfortable, which is awesome, as being on an unsupportive bed has in the past caused back or shoulder issues. This 12" thickness is great, too! Last, it did NOT smell. I tend to be sensitive to chemicals. My body is like a barometer for spotting out GMO foods and toxic environmental crud. Thus, I was apprehensive when I opened this up. It had NO scent whatsoever. I did not have to leave it out to air out anywhere, for any length of time. Nor did I start sniffling or have any adjustment period or allergic symptoms. It just felt clean. By contrast, my TempurPedic even after ten years has some minor to moderate ongoing chemical scent to it. Obviously, I can only review this mattress based on 6 weeks of usage. But I have nothing but good to say about it. I highly prefer it to the TempurPedic, which costed dauntingly more. If they were the same price, I'd opt for this one. see less I slept on a TempurPedic for a decade, moved, ordered this on a prayer, and have slept on it 6 weeks now. I love it, by comparison. Meanwhile we bought a 10" sleep innovations version for our summer home, avoiding the tempurpedic sticker shock; we couldn't tell much difference, and figured that if we had to replace it every few years its a comparative bargain. But after a number of years (at least 5, less than 10), the tempurpedic failed -- it developed a permanent depression under the repeated pressure of my 220-lb body. This led to back pains which went away immediately after replacing the tempurpedic by another sleep innovations mattress. We'll never spend big bucks for a mattress again! Not sure whether another low-priced alternative mattress would have done as well, but we're sold on sleep innovations and have bought several more (via Amazon). see less We paid over $6000 for a 12" top-of-the-line queen-sized tempurpedic, and were happy with it for a number of years. I had this mattress for 2yrs & it worked great until I became pregnant. Then the mattress felt too soft & not enough support. My body changed permanently after birth so I had to buy the tempurpedic (the firmest model) which is much more comfortable & therefore worth the price. Guess it just depends on how much suppo… see more I had this mattress for 2yrs & it worked great until I became pregnant. Then the mattress felt too soft & not enough support.
