Yes, I have registered it with Canon. I trust Amazon to let me know the origin of the items I purchase. I try not to buy from a third party without checking the origin first.

Glenn, if you are asking about a 5DMKIII purchased from Amazon then it should have the USA Warranty papers in the box. Mine did and I was able to register it with Canon USA with no issues.

Amazon reviews are not seller specific, but product specific. Purchase from Amazon and it will have a warranty, third party vendors may not.

Sorry it's taken me awhile to respond; it's been a busy week for me. Yes, I specifically went to the enclosed warranty card which came with it and it IS a USA warranty ("USA and Canada"). Not a grey market item.

After about 4000 shots, I continue to be impressed. My L-series lenses really shine, perhaps the 35mm f1.4 leading the way, with indoor shots without flash of my kids in their spontaneous activities. I seldom shoot RAW files, and with JPEGs most are at the S2 setting (next to lowest file size) and this is MORE THAN adequate for computer monitor viewing. For "special" shots, the M and L files are of course more detailed but I don't find the need to pack what is empirically a 7-12 mp shot for every image I capture. Battery life so far: 600 shots in a day at a kids' museum etc averaging perhaps 2 mp per image and the battery indicator goes from 5 "bars" to 3 "bars". If you shoot digital a lot, you know that battery life really OUGHT to be referred to in terms of MEGAPIXELS RECORDED rather than simply number of shots taken. You'd realize that a battery may take, for example, 1000 1 mp shots OR 100 10 mp shots. So I'm always bemused by evaluations which simply say "this battery lasts for about 350 SHOTS..." see less

It is USA warranty since I bought directly from Amazon, not third-party vendors on Amazon, but I think most of the vendors selling on Amazon USA covers US warranty.
