Has anyone reported Auto Focus issues to Nikon? If so, have you had a response?

Yes, I have most definitely had my share of problems with the D800 body as well as the new D600 body. D800 is in Melville, NY even as I type this being "repaired for left focus issue, oil on the sensor, and dust/dirt on the mirror and focusing screen...and NO, I did NOT take it into the Gobi Desert during a sand storm… see more Yes, I have most definitely had my share of problems with the D800 body as well as the new D600 body. D800 is in Melville, NY even as I type this being "repaired for left focus issue, oil on the sensor, and dust/dirt on the mirror and focusing screen...and NO, I did NOT take it into the Gobi Desert during a sand storm, :o) It was being used carefully for normal shots at the zoo, in the back yard, at a balloon festival, etc. At this point, I cannot recommend either of these bodies. I just received my D800 a couple weeks ago. Almost all my images are out of focus, even with simple portraits. I haven't contacted Nikon yet because I'm attempting to return the camera.

I had kept my camera past the return period. I did contact Nikon, and sent it in via their instructions. I got it back in great shape with no focusing issues! Look for my review under this item.
