what does 30 pin mean ? just ordered a docking station but was wondering what that meant thank you k. cave to leave my case on is great

30 pin is the older Apple connector ,iPhones 4 and older,older iPods, iTouch ect....It the plug that's wide and narrow. The new plugs are called lightning and are small. They are on the newer Apple products.

30 Pin is the longer pin area were you plug in the charger. The new iPhone 5 has a smaller connection and this will not fit.

That's the type charger for iPhones up thru the 4s. The wide connector that attaches at the bottom of the phone.
