I think it depends on your baby and your baby's age... mine is now able to take even a long later afternoon nap (like 3:30 - 4:30 or 5) and still go to bed around 7:30 or 8. She is now 6 months old and hasn't combined her naps into two big ones quite yet. My rule is if she is sleeping I let her sleep.
