They are 5" pots that are included and the 15 completly fill up the garden. I don't know what you are planning on growing, but I can't imagine you would be growing any plants that you would want that many growing in there at once. The tray is 4-41/4 inches depending on which model you have - the newer model is about a 1/4 inch deeper.

I fill mine all the way to the top of the gauge. You do not want the pump to suck in air, it will dramatically decrease the life of it. 8 gallons is my golden number, its full, but the pump remains submerged

Just turn the level-viewing tube downward and point it in a bucket. I usually clip it to a long stick or rod and do other things while it take its time to drain. Also, you need to tip the back of the whole unit toward the draining tube as the water level gets low. This helps to get the most fluid out.

I ditched the pots all together. I filled it with hydroton and have 5 full sized tomatoes plants growing in it. I fabbed up a support system that is about 40" tall. I harvest tomatoes almost daily and have been since November.
