Answer:
I own a cub cadet LTX1045,and it fit just fine, but CUB and MTD are one and the same.I doubt yours would be a direct fit. I would call MTD parts/service,and ask if there is a conversion kit,if yours does not fit.I hope this helps.

No, the deck can remain on, but depending on how deep the snow is, you may wish to remove it.

Answer:
Cub Cadet shows it as an accessory for their 46" models, so it should work fine. It attaches to the front of the frame, so the deck size shouldn't matter.

Yes it will. I have one on my LT 1018. I'm not sure the year of mine but it is close to a 2004.

Answer:
It should. Snapper, Toro and MD tractors are all made the same. Check the front bottom of your tractor. If you have the bracket with holes, you're probably good to go. When all else fails, consult the dealer where you bought your tractor.....they should be able to tell you with certainty.

Answer:
It's only intended to work on MTD-made tractors. I don't know the manufacturer of your Craftsman tractor, so I can't directly answer your question. The likelihood is that it will not fit.
