Answer:
Yes. There are two ways to do this (that I know of). 1) Use the cord that came with your camera (it has a little end and a big one). There are two ways to do this (that I know of). 1) Use the cord that came with your camera (it has a little end and a big one). Plug the little end into your camera (the hole for that is under the plastic flap on the side of the camera). Plug the big end into a USB port on your computer. Turn your camera on. Click the start button on your computer -- a menu will pop up. On the right hand side of the menu there is the word "computer." Click on that. All of the places where information is stored that your computer has access to will pop up. Your camera will be there under "Portable devices" (It will say Cannon PowerShot A540). Click on that. Then you will see two options: Fixed storage and Removable storage. Click on Removable storage. Then click on the DCIM folder and your photos will come up. From there you can download what you want by clicking on the ones you want and copying them to wherever you want them on your computer. After you've made sure that has happened you can delete them from your memory card to free up space.
You can also do this an easier way if your computer has a memory card slot. If it does just put the memory card into the slot. Click the start button on your computer -- a menu will pop up. On the right hand side of the menu there is the word "computer." Click on that. All of the places where information is stored that your computer has access to will pop up. Your memory card will be there under "removable disk." Click on that. Then you will see two options: DCIM and MISC. Click on the DCIM folder and your photos will come up. From there you can download what you want by clicking on the ones you want and copying them to wherever you want them on your computer. After you've made sure that has happened you can delete them from your memory card to free up space. see less
