Answer:
Like others have said, you need an amplifier to drive the speakers so they are best used hooked to a home theater system or an inline amplifier hooked between the speakers and your TV. Amplifiers built into TVs typically have just enough power to drive the TV's speakers only. Check your TV owner's manual.

Answer:
These are just speakers , you need a receiver in order to use them. These are the kind you would use with a home theater system or other similar setup. The receiver is what would need the ability to be wireless.
Hope that helps,
David

Answer:
In short, no, these speakers will not work with a portable CD player. An amplifier can be had cheaply (about $20), though. Leipath 2020a amp may be what you need.

Answer:
Not directly. My record player, tape deck, cd player all are connected to my tuner/pre-amp. The speakers are connected to the pre-amp for them to work.

Answer:
I used these Pyle speakers. I ran 16 gauge speaker wire to a Pyle, PTA2, amp and then to the Pyle speakers. This amp allows you to hook up different components. My cable has RCA plugs, One red and one white, on each end. Plug it into the back of the amp and other end into the Audio out on the back of the TV. There are no optical connections on the Pyle amp and you really don't need it. Mine sound terrific and I don't have to blast it to hear it. Good Luck. Jim PS The reason for the 12' audio cables is so I can have the amp right next to my chair so if I have to adjust the volume I can do so without getting up. see less I used these Pyle speakers. Answer:
I'm not sure a TV is going to be able to push these properly, you need to have a receiver because they use normal speaker cable you have to strip and insert into the back crimp connectors.
