Depends. Good action shots are a function of shutter speed and your lens. If you have a 70-200 MM lens 2.8 L you won't have a problem.

If it's a cloudy day then you might have more of an issue but I took action shots at a Race Car event. These cars are going in excess of 150mph and it was cloudy. Shots came out great. Just remember the closer you zoom on an object, the more likely it will be blurry and a zoomed object will have less depth of field. I recommend to get a tripod or monopod(I use a monopod,requires a lot smaller area to use,tripping hazard,etc.).
