I went with the left side zipper cause it was cheaper at the time I got mine. It didn't cause me any issues and I am also right handed. I'm six foot 173 lbs an had enough room to zip it up once inside with little effort. Hope this helps

I have the left and right handed versions and they do indeed zip together. The footboxes will be separate, but if you're just looking to combine them you can do it.

Pretty compact. Even if you are using a day pack, it wouldn't be too much to stuff it in your bag or attach it to the top of the bag. I would say packed up it is about 12" x 6"

I would say it's about 3 pounds. It really is a great price/quality sleeping bag. I've only seen a couple that are a bit smaller when rolled up but their fabric was noticeably thinner.
