I did check out the OXO site to learn about sizes and uses for all their POP pieces. Their pieces come in 3 main shapes as far as the width and length of the lids go:

Frustration free packaging is literally just a box within a box which opens up. I think standard packaging has other papers Styrofoam etc. in it which is messier

I've even used the largest one to store my berry sangria. It stays fresh in the fridge to chill, and if extra to store for 1-2 days. I keep everything fresh, and I use them all the time. I have not had any issues, but I avoid using any "green" scrubber type cleaning. It's not surprising it scratched. I usually just soak it in warm soap water and wipe with a cloth to clean them.

they are air tight. I don't have roaches, but I do have those little sugar ants, and it keeps them out. I absolutely love these canisters. Hope this helps.
