The one I have has a sticker on the bottom that says Made in China for Aervoe Industries out of Granderville, NV. I have purchased four of these. Three I gave to friends after Sandy and one I keep on my desk at work. They all work well and I'm happy to have purchased them.

I lost my records, but I'm pretty sure it's lithium ion. There's a manual for what seems to be this lantern at http://aervoe.com/techdata/7470%20IM.pdf; that sheet specifies that the battery is lithium ion.

I don't know exactly how long it runs before the light goes out, but I've run it for several hours camping and had no issues. The battery also holds a charge for a really long time. I had this in a closet with no sunlight, and it shined as bright as I remember when I put it in the closet months ago. Great product.
