The device only charges via USB, to the best of my knowledge. Power blocks that support USB might work.

The Sony Bloggie Touch blows the Flip away. The quality of the Sony is far superior. I bought one for my Father-In-Law and one for my wife. You can take a still photo, while you are the shooting video,(if that's what you are wondering), by just pressing the pressing the photo button on the side of the camera. I like to take videos and photos simultaneously landscape. Photos and videos don't cover the screen area as much if you are taking them portrait.
