It's about 6 inches across and 7 inches deep, maybe 1.5 inches front to back. Very stiff.

Mine was plastic also it was just for looks so it didn't matter much. It didn't cost that much and I knew it wasn't leather.

Sporrans are not attached to a kilt, they're worn around the waist on the belt holding your kilt on. If you're wearing a pre-pleated kilt, you can just wear it on the chain that comes with the Sporran.

No it does not. I don't believe you would be able to use as a belt.

The belt barely supports the weight of the sporran. I would not recommend adding a Sword to it.
