I have an arsenal of all clad utensils helping me with my Indian cooking. Even my mom & MIL who swore by only Indian vessels use them regularly in India. All curries/roasting but not deep frying. I have never tried deep frying in these.

Yes, can be used for frying
It can be used also to make rice, soups, beefstew, chicken stew, almost anything you want.

Yes, it is as pictured. It works very well as an every day pot for me. The shape lends itself to easy cleaning, so I rarely put it into the dish washer.
