It only uses AA batteries, and it burns through them rather quickly. The camera often died at the worst times.

Heidi, I don't know of any. This camera IS NOT water proof. I'd ask a camera shop if you are interested in under water shooting.

I think you find them by adjusting a setting on the dial on top. It's not auto- unfortunately my camera is back in the shop or I could find it exactly. This will be my 5th since the purchase in the summer of 2012. The A1300's are just as bad. I hope you have better luck with yours.
