I better option for coloring fondant would be a paste-type food color, but I assume this could work as a substitute.

That's funny, it dilutes quickly in water, stains the fingers for days if not washed off quickly, but powdered red kool-aid will last much longer as a food dye.

There was a number at the bottom side, but not an expiration date. I have had my 3 bottles for quite sometime now & is nearing the completion of the last bottle
and it is still good!

Not sure because this is water based food coloring, I know in my red velvet the red became really red with hints of brown from the coco powder
