Yes, I also have muscular calves & they fit well. I would go down 1/2 size. I usually wear 9.5 but the sz 9 in this particular style is perfect.

I bought mine to go over some waders for fishing. They were very comfortable but to tight in the calf. I would probably go with a 9. Not sure what your are going to use these for.

They are not lined. Great comfort and durability for a rain boot but I would not recommend them for snow.

I have very strong calf, is fit well with workout pant and jean. My runing shoes 6.5, I order 6 w and wear socks. Love it, very light weight and much better than the Hunter I owned. Hope it help.

Definitely just add 2 size to the equivalent of what he wears in men for women; 9 in men 11 in women

The boots themselves definetly do NOT weigh 6 pounds, they are super lite and comfortable. Can't imagine even with shipping they could be that heavy.

Not sure how your feet could get wet unless moisture came in from the top of the boot.
